Hikari - A Festival of Lights

Holiday Fun at Tanaka Farms

It’s the holiday season and I couldn’t be happier!! Even though things are different, there are still ways to have fun. We kicked off our holiday season with Hikari – A Festival of Lights at Tanaka Farms! Along with the OC Mommy Blogger Tribe, I was invited to experience opening day and we had a wonderful time!

Before we got there, we downloaded the Listen Everywhere app so we could hear the fun music and the fun facts about Tanaka Farms. Once we arrived, we had the opportunity to buy snacks and then we were off! Along the route we experienced so many lights! Tanaka Farms stayed with the farm theme with lights on tractors and even lights shaped like strawberries! I enjoyed going through Candy Cane Lane, each side of the road was lined with sugar cane. We also saw a line of light Christmas trees ending with a beautiful, big light tree.

A trip to the farm isn’t complete without animals and we got to see a turkey and some goats. The grand finale is the big man himself! I was worried that we wouldn’t get a picture with Santa this year but we got to have one and from the safety of our car!

Some tips and facts about Hikari – A Festival of Lights:

  • It runs from now thru Sunday, January 10th
  • It is $49/vehicle on Monday thru Thursday and $59/vehicle Friday thru Sunday
  • The path is a little over a mile and it will probably take you 30-45 minutes to drive thru the whole thing (I recommend arriving 15 minutes before your appointment time to get through the line to get in.
  • Your phone will recognize the WiFi right at the entrance so don’t sweat if you don’t see it right away
  • Prepare to have fun!

It was my first visit to Tanaka Farms and it won’t be my last! I want to check out the Drive-Thru Produce Market Stand next.
