Disney’s Crispy Baked Chicken
During the pandemic, we’ve been doing a lot of cooking. If you’ve been following along, you’ll know that we LOVE recreating Disney and Disney Parks recipes. There are so many theme park recipes that I want to try. When we cook at home, we know it is a great way to make safe and delicious options for my kids! We’ve recently recreated Grandpa’s Crispy Baked Chicken from the 50’s Prime Time Café at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It was delicious!
The 50’s Prime Time Cafe is a fun restaurant that has classic dishes like pot roast and my favorite chicken noodle soup. The atmosphere can’t be beat, it takes you right back to the 50’s where you must mind your manners and clean your plate (your server will call you out on it if you don’t!). At some tables, you can see clips of old sitcoms. A Walt Disney World trip is not complete without a dining at this yummy place.
Making it allergy friendly!
To make this allergy friendly, I took some creative liberties with this recipe. This recipe calls for panko bread crumbs but I’m not aware of a safe panko crumbs for my son. So I decided to get creative and ground up Fritos to use as a “bread crumb”. We used original and also Scoops kinds of Fritos. I really liked it! It was a good flavor and the Fritos made a good crunch. The only negative was a the chicken was a little more greasy with the Fritos but it definitely wasn’t as greasy as normal fried chicken. This is definitely a dish we will be making again!
Have you ever used chips as an ingredient in your dishes?
